Koh Samui, located in the Gulf of Thailand, is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, lush forests, and vibrant nightlife. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many travelers are curious about the quarantine requirements for visiting Koh Samui.

As of now, Thailand's government has implemented a mandatory quarantine period for all travelers entering the country. This applies to both Thai citizens and foreign visitors. The quarantine period is set at 14 days, during which visitors will be required to stay in a government-approved quarantine facility. The cost of the facility will be covered by the visitor.

However, Koh Samui has taken additional measures to ensure the safety of its residents and visitors. The island has implemented a Samui Plus program, which allows fully vaccinated travelers to enter and quarantine for only 7 days, as opposed to the standard 14 days. Visitors must also provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to their arrival.

To participate in the Samui Plus program, visitors must first apply through the Thailand Pass website and receive approval before traveling to Koh Samui. They must also stay in an approved SHA+ hotel for their quarantine period.

It is important to note that the situation regarding COVID-19 and travel restrictions is constantly changing. It is recommended to check the latest updates from reliable sources before planning a trip to Koh Samui.
